KATHMANDU: Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Chairman Upendra Yadav has lashed out at the Election Election (EC) for not giving recognition to the action taken against four JSP leaders by his party.

Questioning over the impartiality of the EC, Yadav said the Commission has undermined the norms and values of the democratic system where the decision taken by the majority is valued.

“The constitutional body should be impartial, neutral and can never be prejudiced. If any decisions are taken partially to suit someone’s vested interest will not be acceptable,” said Yadav in a press note issued.

On May 31, a meeting of the JSP’s central executive committee had expelled another chairman Mahantha Thakur, senior leader Rajendra Mahato, Laxman Karna and Sarbendra Nath Shukla.

The EC, however, did not give recognition to the the JSP’s decision.
