Senior kidney specialist Dr Rawat dies of COVID-19 pneumonia



KATHMANDU: Senior kidney specialist Dr Kanak Bahadur Rawat has died of severe COVID-19 pneumonia.

Dr. Badri Rijal, General Secretary of the Nepal Medical Association, said that Rawat died in the course of treatment at the TU Teaching Hospital this morning.

Dr. Rawat had been admitted to the hospital in the first week of June.

He was considered to be the best physician at the TU Teaching Hospital. Former Dean of the Institute of Medicine (IOM), Prof Dr Jagadish Chandra Agrawal said that he was a skilled and honest doctor.

“We worked together in the medicine department,” he said, adding, “He was an honest and dedicated physician.”
