UML’s Sudurpaschim PP suspends seven lawmakers

DHANGADHI: CPN-UML’s Sudurpaschim Province parliamentary party (PP) has suspended seven lawmakers close to Prime Minister KP Oli who refused to give vote of confidence to Sudurpaschim Chief Minister Trilochan Bhatt.

According to Durga Kumari BK,  UML’s  Sudurpaschim PP Chief Whip, seven province assembly members defying the party directives have been suspended from attending the party meeting for a few days.

“They have been suspended from attending party meetings,” she said.

A meeting of the UML parliamentary party chaired by party leader Prakash Bahadur Shah on Monday evening decided to suspend the seven members for seven to 15 days considering their performance.

The suspended members include Pathan Singh Bohara, Ratan Thapa, Liladhar Bhatt, Baldev Regmi, Nepalu Chaudhary, Gyalbusingh Bohara and Maya Tamang Bohara.

Bohara and Thapa have been suspended for 15 days, Bhatt and Regmi for 10 days and others for seven days.

UML’s Sudurpaschim PP has also restricted the suspended lawmakers from taking part in the budget discussion.
