Rs 8 billion spent in six months for construction of three int’l airports



KATHMANDU: Around Rs eight billion has been spent in the six months of the current fiscal year for the three under-construction international airports.

The highest expenditure has been incurred at Pokhara Regional International Airport under the project of national pride.

Out of Rs 10.75 billion allocated for Pokhara, Rs 5.6 billion has been spent in six months.

Likewise, Rs 2.98 billion has been spent on Bhairahawa International Airport in the last six months of the current fiscal year. A total of Rs 4.72 billion was spent last year.

The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 6.82 billion.

Nijgadh International Airport under construction in Bara has not made much progress.

Out of the Rs 500 million allocated for the construction of fences and roads in the current fiscal year, only Rs 50 million has been spent in six months.
