NC holding nationwide demonstration against HoR dissolution

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) is scheduled to stage a nationwide demonstration on Monday against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR).

The NC has labeled the Prime Minister’s move to dissolve Parliament as unconstitutional and undemocratic.

The main opposition party has accused the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) of heading towards the path of authoritarianism through the dissolution of the HoR.

It has also alleged the KP Oli-led government of being indifferent to the existing corruption, failing to maintain good governance and control the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier on Sunday, NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba instructed all party leaders and cadres to participate in the protest rallies to be held in all 77 districts, including in Kathmandu.

Issuing a statement, Deuba had said, “I appeal to all to participate in Monday’s demonstration to make it effective and successful.”

NC President Deuba will participate in the demonstration to be held in Butwal.
