KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has decided to seek clarification from Prime Minister KP Oli to expel him from the party.

A Standing Committee meeting of the faction held at the party’s central office in Perisdanda on Friday decided to seek clarification from the prime minister, Standing Committee member Beduram Bhushal.

“We are going to ask for an explanation as to why Prime Minister Oli, who was involved in anti-party activities, should not be expelled from the party,” said Bhushal.

Earlier a Central Committee meeting of the faction held on December 22 had ousted Prime Minister Oli from NCP Chairmanship.

Similarly, today’s meeting has also decided to oust Bishnu Poudel as the party’s General Secretary.

The meeting has given the responsibility of Chairperson of Province-1 Committee to Ghanendra Basnet. Similarly, it has been decided to give the responsibility of deputy in-charge to Jayanti Rai, Rajendra Rai, Padam Rai, Peshal Khatiwada and Jagannath Khatiwada.
