NC General Convention: 1300 votes cast so far



KATHMANDU: The second phase of voting underway in the 14th General Convention of Nepali Congress has witnessed around 1300 votes till 5 pm Tuesday.

There are 4743 delegates to the General Convention.

In the first phase of the election held on Monday, none of the five presidential candidates got more than 50 percent of the required number of votes.

PM Deuba and Dr. Koirala are competing in the second round after Prakash Man Singh, Bimalendra Nidhi and Kalyan Gurung dropped out from the race.

The counting of votes for the chairperson will take place immediately after the voting ends on Tuesday. Then the votes for other posts will be counted. Out of 134 seats, two central members have been elected unopposed. Voting for 132 seats has not been counted.
