KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Kalyan Gurung, who stood fifth in the vote count results of the presidential polls, has decided to support Sher Bahadur Deuba in the second round of voting.
Gurung said that he has decided to support Deuba following the vote count results of the first round of voting.
“We have decided to support Deuba to strike chords in the intra-party competition,” said Gurung, adding, “My companions have also suggested to support him.”
Presidential candidate Gurung secured 20 votes in the first round of voting.
Deuba is most likely to win the party president for the second term after Prakash Man Sing, Bimalendra Nidhi and Kalyan Gurung pledged their support for him.
