NC Gen Convention vote count update: Deuba takes lead with 868 votes, Shekhar 656

1,806 votes counted so far



KATHMANDU: As per the counting of votes for the election of new leadership in the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress, 1,806 votes have been counted so far.

According to the latest details, Sher Bahadur Deuba got 868 votes while Shekhar Koirala is following him with 656 votes.

Similarly, Prakash Man Singh got 155 votes, Bimalendra Nidhi got 98 votes while Kalyan Gurung got 7 votes.

In the first round, if no candidate gets more than 50 percent of the votes, there will be another contest between the two candidates who get the most votes.

The counting of votes started at 4 am today at Rastriya Sabhagriha. A total of 4,679 votes were cast in the voting held on Monday.
