Drink-driving causes car accident, killing four Indian nationals



RAUTAHAT: Four persons were killed when an Indian number plate car skidded off the road and fell some 20 meters into a pond near Jhunkhunawa along the Gaur-Chandranigahapur road.

The accident took place at around 10 pm on Saturday. Four persons were travelling on the ill-fated car (UK 12 C 2900) that was headed to Gaur from Chandranigahapur and all of them were killed, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Narayan Chimoriya. Shortly after the accident, a police team reached the site only to find all four dead, he said.

Drink-driving caused the accident, according to police preliminary investigations. The deceased have been identified as Indian national according to documents the deceased carried with them, said the police.

The police have coordinated with the Indian police to find more personal details of the deceased and investigations are underway, he said. The police retrieved the car from the pond with the help of a crane.
