44-yr-old killed in Kailali road accident



KAILALI: A person has died in a road accident involving an auto-rickshaw at Girighat, of Surkhet the capital of Karnali province.

The deceased has been identified as Jamara Shahi, 44, of Birendranagar-1, Surkhet. Shahi died while undergoing treatment at Karnali Care Hospital, according to Karnali Provincial Police Spokesperson Madhav Prasad Shrestha.

Laxmi Bahadur Shahi, 53, and Jagat Shahi, 20, of Birendranagar Municipality were also injured in the incident but have returned home after receiving treatment. The rickshaw driver reportedly lost control all of a sudden and hit the road culvert.

Rickshaw driver Ramesh Shahi, 24, of Birendranagar-1, Surkhet has been arrested and necessary investigation is underway, police said.
