Nepali Congress holding CWC meeting today

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) is holding a central working committee (CWC) meeting today.

The CWC meeting will be held in Budhanilkantha at 1 pm, informed Krishna Prasad Paudel, the chief secretary of the NC central party office. Office bearers of the CWC, central members and invited central members are participating in the meeting.

The meeting will endorse the schedule of the General Convention slated for November 10 to 12 and hold discussions on other contemporary issues.

The office-bearers’ meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Budhanilkantha on Saturday had set agenda items for the central working committee (CWC) scheduled for Sunday and dwelled on the preparations of the 14th General Convention of the party.

There have been sharp differences between Poudel and Deuba factions due to many aspirants for the leadership in the General Convention. Senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel had called a meeting of his factions on Friday and President Deuba had called a meeting of his group on Thursday.

Despite efforts being made to field a common presidential candidate, it has not yet been successful due to many candidates aspiring for the post.

NC has scheduled to hold Province Convention on December 2-3 and General Convention on December 10-12.
