SC orders activist Ruby Khan’s release

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has ordered the release of Ruby Khan of Banke and also instructed not to re-arrest her again after release.

A group of activists, including Ruby, had arrived in Kathmandu on foot from Nepalgunj to pressurize the police for not conducting effective investigation into the two incidents of violence. However, Ruby was arrested by the police and taken to Nepalgunj on false charges.

In a habeas corpus writ filed in the case, a bench of Justice Anil Kumar Sinha on Thursday ordered Ruby’s release.
