Tanahu Society, Hong Kong, provides financial support to two kidney patients



KATHMANDU: Tanahu Society, Hong Kong, has provided Rs 456,000 financial support to two youths suffering from kidney disease.

Khim Bahadur Nepali, 36, and Lum Bahadur Rilami of Rishing rural municipality-8 got the financial assistance. The Society handed over Rs 274,000 to Nepali and Rs 182,000 to Rilami.

Nepali is suffering from kidney disease for the past 10 months while Rilami has for the past five years.

Nepali is undergoing treatment in Pokhara and Rilami at Damauli Hospital, said former chairperson of the society, Bhim Raj Gurung.

The financial assistance was handed over after meeting both patients.

Similarly, Nepalis working in Saudi Arabia had collected Rs 100,000 for Nepali and the amount was also handed over. It would cost at least Rs 1.5 million to transplant a kidney, said Nepali’s wife Chandra Nepali.
