UML leader Rawal reveals he got threat calls while working for party unity

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Vice Chairperson Bhim Rawal has revealed that leaders of some political parties had threateningly called him while he was working to resolve the dispute in the UMl as a dispute resolution task force member.

Issuing a statement Wednesday, Rawal condemned specific news articles published in the media on July 11 that falsely stated that he had met officials of Indian intelligence agency RAW on July 4 at Hotel Marriot.

Refuting such news as propaganda done by forces that were against UML unity, Rawal detailed events that took place on the above-mentioned dates.

Meanwhile, he suspected that those who had called him to threaten him in course of working in the task force might have had their hand behind the publication of those news stories. He, however, did not disclose who had called him.

He alleged that it was an attempt to assassinate his character by fabricating and publishing misinformation about him.
