FinMin Sharma allocates Rs 5 bln for COVID-19 vaccines

KATHMANDU: Newly appointed Finance Minister Jhanardan Sharma has disbursed Rs 5 billion rupees for the procurement of COVID-19 vaccines.

Taking charge as the Finance Minister today Sharma approved the amount for the procurement of the COVID-19 vaccines.

He has also approved the budget for risk allowance meant for frontline health security workers and stating that the government is focused on protecting the lives of people against COVID-19.

Sharma has allocated Rs 961,200,000 for the procurement of oxygen cylinders, ICU and ventilators and given permission to dole out Rs 524,600,000 for provincial and local units.
