Wife masterminds killing of Maoist leader Pandey



KATHMANDU: Police have disclosed that Maoist Center Kapilvastu leader Deepak Pandey’s wife Mahima had masterminded his killing.

Pandey’s wife Mahima had extramarital affair with Om Prakash Yadav, one of the people involved in the killing, and they had planned the murder, police revealed Monday. Others involved in the killing also have been arrested.

Pandey was shot in Kapilvastu Municipality-3 on May 19. He died at the Kathmandu Teaching Hospital on May 25 while undergoing treatment.

Police arrested Om Prakash Yadav of Kapilvastu-1 with a pistol and 68 rounds of bullet. Similarly, Sakir Ali Pakhiya, Ramjan Sah Musalman of Kapilvastu-2 and Purna Bir Palpali of Kapilvastu -1 have also been arrested. Police also recovered two pistols and bullets from them.

Likewise, police also arrested six others who facilitated the killing by providing weapons and hid the weapons after the incident. They have been identified as Saddam Hussain Khan and Prabin Gupta of Kapilvastu-2, Gyanendra Kumar Pandey and Radhe Shyam Chaudhary of Yashodhara Village OF Kapilvastu-4, Shri Ram Kurmi of Kapilvastu-5 and Narsat Ali of Masjid Tol, Kapilvastu-1.
