Germany pledges Rs 4.8 billion grant aid to Nepal

KATHMANDU: The Federal Republic of Germany has pledged to provide financial and technical assistance of more than Rs 4.80 billion to the Government of Nepal.

The Government of Germany has expressed the commitment to provide this amount in the form of a grant to give continuation to the technical support till 2023 and to the financial assistance till 2025 under the ongoing bilateral cooperation between Nepal and Germany.

Ambassador of Germany to Nepal, Roland Schefer, and Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Finance, Shree Krishna Nepal today signed on a memorandum of understanding in this connection today, the Embassy of Germany here stated.

The Embassy has stated that the amount would be provided to the energy and renewable energy, sustainable economic development, and health sectors in the mid-and far-western regions of Nepal.
