SC hearing continues on the ‘vacate’ petition lawmaker Thapa’s reinstatement

KATHMANDU: The hearing on the writ petition against the interim order to suspend the action taken against Gandaki province assembly lawmaker Krishna Thapa is undergoing at Supreme Court.

A bench of Justices Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha and Kumar Regmi is hearing the review petition filed by the Rastriya Janamorcha Nepal.

The Rastriya Janamorcha had filed a ‘vacate’ petition against the Supreme Court’s order on June 9 demanding revocation of the interim order that had reinstated Thapa to the post till the final verdict.

Janamorcha had expelled lawmaker Thapa from the party and informed the province assembly secretariat alleging that he did not follow the party’s decision and whip. Thapa was then relieved of his post.

In the writ petition filed against him, the Supreme Court had issued an interim order not to implement the decision taken against him.

Rastriya Janamorcha, its Gandaki province parliamentary party, and the Speaker of Gandaki province assembly Speaker Netra Nath Adhikari had filed a petition against the interim order.
