PM Oli to hold erstwhile SC meeting to give message of party unity

Will Nepal, Khanal attend it?

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister and CPN-UML party chair KP Sharma Oli is making preparations to call a Standing Committee (SC) meeting that existed prior to May 17, 2018.

Prime Minister Oli has decided to call the meeting in a bid to thrash out the intra-party feud after the party was headed towards the brink of conflict.

With the decision to call the erstwhile SC meeting, the leaders of the Nepal-Khanal faction have intensified meetings.

It has been learnt the meeting has been called to give a message of party unity by involving senior leaders Jhala Nath Khanal and Madhav Nepal in the meeting.

However, it is not certain whether Nepal and Khanal will attend the meeting or not.

Oli is calling the meeting as per the six-point proposal floated by him, according to leader close to Oli.

Oli had taken action against 11 UML leaders by relieving them of general memberships of the party.
