Leader Nepal claims PM Oli is ready to undo past decision as demanded

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has claimed that Prime Minister and party Chairman KP Oli has agreed to undo the unilateral decisions taken in the former’s absence.

Speaking briefly to the reporters at the Federal Parliament Building on Friday, leader Nepal revealed that Chairman Oli has agreed to undo major past decisions like the one of March 12 as demanded by his group.

Senior leader Nepal’s group has been pressing for the withdrawal of March 12 decision and the restoration of party committees’ status as per May 16, 2018, as their bottom line in the dialogues with the PM.

“Party Chair Oli has promised that an agreement will be reached and a task force will be formed to discuss the remaining modalities,” he said.

Chairman Oli had amended the party constitution and announced a general convention organizing committee on March 12.

Earlier, Chairman Oli and leader Nepal had a discussion on the way out from the ongoing conflict in the party in their meeting at Chapali Heights on Thursday.

A crucial meeting between the leaders of both faction is scheduled for Friday evening.
