‘PM Oli to reappoint most of previous ministers’

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is making preparations to reappoint most of the previous ministers in his cabinet, sources have said.

Prime Minister Oli is taking an oath of office and secrecy at Shital Niwas at 2:30 pm today. Preparations are underway to administer the oath of office to the newly appointed ministers immediately after the Prime Minister’s swearing-in ceremony.

Oli, being the parliamentary party leader of the largest party in the parliament, was reappointed as the Prime Minister on Thursday.

President Bidya Bhandari reappointed him in the line with Article 76 (3) of the Constitution after the opposition parties failed to produce majority to form a new government.

Bhandari had given a three-day deadline to the opposition parties after Prime Minister Oli failed to secure the vote of confidence on May 10.

The deadline given by the President expired at 9 pm on Thursday.
