Nepal records 603 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours



KATHMANDU: Nepal recorded a total of 603 new cases of coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 580 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 through the RT-PCR method while 23 have been tested positive through the Antigen method.

Speaking at the regular press briefing, Dr Jageshwor Gautam, Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population informed that 173 persons in Kathmandu, 61 in Lalitpur, and 20 in Bhaktapur have been tested positive for the pandemic virus.

Meanwhile, 129 have returned home after complete health recovery today.

Out of the total infected, 80 persons have been kept in ICU while 25 are in the ventilator.  With this, the coronavirus infection rate has reached 97.5 percent.
