95% part of Taplejung enjoys mobile phone service



TAPLEJUNG: With the restoration of mobile phone service at Phaktanglung Rural Municipality-7 last week, around 95 per cent territory of Taplejung district has now access to mobile phone service.

Chief of Nepal Telecom Office, Taplejung, Birendra Chemjong, said that the Telecom has started providing mobile phone service by fixing towers of satellite technology at Olangchungola.

Mobile phone service has been brought into operation at Olangchungola, which is located at the height of 3,200 metres from the sea level.

Now, locals of Olangchungola area are happy with the mobile phone service provided by Nepal Telecom and enjoying talks with their relatives staying at their own houses.

There are 56 households at Olangchungola. A total of 23 mobile phone towers have been installed at different places of Taplejung to provide mobile phone service in the district, added Chemjong.

Kalikhola area of Sidingwa Rural Municipality-1 is still out of mobile phone services.
