Assembly meeting of Province 1 deferred until further notice

BIRATNAGAR: Province 1 assembly meeting has been deferred until further notice citing special reasons.

The provincial assembly secretariat issued a notice on Sunday said that the fourth meeting of the winter session of the assembly called for Monday had been postponed until further notice.

Provincial assembly Speaker Pradeep Bhandari had called the assembly meeting on March 15 with Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai’s consent.

It should be recalled that a vote of no-confidence motion was filed against Chief Minister Rai on February 21.

While the ruling CPN-UML’s Chief Whip Buddhi Rajbhandari has been demanding that the no-confidence motion be withdrawn.

As many as 37 members had filed the no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Rai.

Meanwhile, five of the members had decided to support Rai.
