Former RPP Chair Thapa warns newly elected Lingden, ‘You might be next victim of ex-royals’



KATHMANDU: Outgoing Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Kamal Thapa has warned newly elected Chairman Rajendra Lingden that the latter (Lingden) might be the next victim to suffer former King Gyanendra Shah and his people’s conspiracy.

Writing a letter to Chairman Lingden on Monday, Thapa remarked that RPP’s agenda of constitutional monarchy needs reconsideration for the ex-royals have started unduly interfering in the party politics.

“When the whole country advocated for a republic, the main person carrying the agenda of the monarchy wearing a coffin on his head is not safe, how can anyone else be safe?” he stated, warning, ” You might soon fall prey to this tendency.”

Thapa also demanded an impartial inquiry into Nirmal Niwas’ (Former King Gyanendra Shah’s residence) interference in the party leadership election.
