Nepal national dies in uber accident in Maryland, USA



KATHMANDU: A Nepali national has died in an uber accident in Kingsville, Maryland, USA, on Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as uber driver Sunil Baraili of Myagdi.

Harry Bhandari, a delegate to the Maryland State Parliament, confirmed Baraili’s death in the accident.

A vehicle traveling at a speed about 100 miles per hour and coming from the opposite direction had hit the car Baraili was driving. The driver of another vehicle that collided with Baraili’s vehicle was also killed in the incident. Two other passengers in Baraili’s vehicle have been injured and are receiving medical treatment at a local hospital. However, their situation is said to be critical.

According to Bhandari, Baraili’s body was kept at the funeral home after the postmortem this afternoon as per the family’s approval.

Police are investigating the incident as ritual’s for the deceased Baraili’s funeral had begun.

Bhandari mentioned on social media that he was outraged by the incident as an innocent person had to lose his life for no reason.

Bhandari said he faced the most painful task of informing Baraili’s wife and children, who had just reached US, about the incident.

Stating that he would leave no stone unturned to dispense justice to Baraili, Bhandari wished deep condolence to the family and prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased’s soul.
