UML Chair Oli has a leap in factionalism: Dr. Bhim Rawal

KATHMANDU: Disgruntled CPN-UML leader Dr. Bhim Rawal has expressed his strong objection against party Chair KP Oli’s working style in the party.

Expressing his dissatisfaction with the procedure of nomination at the party’s Central Committee, Polit-Bureau and Standing Committee as executed by Chairman Oli, Rawal said that the recent nomination and work division show that the party chairman’s factionalism has taken a leap.

Leader Rawal, who was defeated by party Chair Oli in the party’s 10th General Convention, commented that party leadership did not show any sign of correction.

“Looking at the recent nominations and responsibilities or division of labor in the UML, it seems that the long-running factionalism led by KP Oli has taken a leap,” he said in his Twitter.

This is not a process of building a party committed to the country and the people, but a model of factionalism driven ego gratification. It is in the interest of the party to get rid of such tendency.

Although Rawal had nominated his candidature for the post of chairman, he had not nominated his candidature for the post of central member.

Like Rawal, Asthalaxmi Shakya, Yuvaraj Gyawali, Prithvi subba Gurung among many others opine that Chairman Oli should have consulted the elected leaders or discussed the criteria for nomination in the posts of officials prior to nominating the people in the key positions in the party.
