NC to continue with recently revised schedule of 14th General Convention

NC CEC published the last revised schedule on October 28

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to stick to the last, most recently, revised schedule of party’s 14th General Convention.

A meeting of NC office-bearers held at the residence of party President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkantha on Saturday decided to move ahead with the schedule prepared by the party’s CEC for holding the central general convention from December 10 to 12.

The NC Central Election Committee (CEC) had published the last revised schedule of the General Convention on October 28.

Following the office-bearers meet, NC Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma said the Central Working Committee (CWC) set to meet on Sunday would endorse the last revised schedule for the general convention.

Similarly, the office-bearers meeting also discussed establishing various preparatory committees for concluding the General Convention and the NC spokesperson said the CWC would finalize them.

Sharma said once the CWC approves the schedule of the General Convention, the confusion about the General Convention would be over. He assured that the convention up to the provincial level, which was stopped earlier, would also be held on time.

Ward conventions of 13 districts, which were delayed due to active membership dispute, have also started from Saturday.

However, with the resignation of the party’s election official in Sarlahi, there is still confusion over whether to hold a ward convention.
