Speaker Sapkota says he is ready to discuss with UML to end House disruption



KATHMANDU: Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has said that he was ready to hold discussions with the main opposition CPN-UML to end the obstruction in the Parliament.

He said that all stakeholders should be ready to hold dialogue as there was no alternative to talks to run the parliament.

In an interview with News Agency Nepal, Speaker Sapkota said that everyone has an equal role to play in enhancing the dignity of the parliament, adding that he was ready for discussions with the opposition party UML, which has been obstructing the Parliament.

Speaker Sapkota also claimed that whatever decision he made was a neutral one and that everyone should review their work and sit for dialogue.

Claiming that he has played a neutral, impartial, and independent role based on the constitution and the rules of the House of Representatives, Speaker Sapkota said, “I am ready to hold talks. Let’s sit and review with a positive mindset.”
