KATHMANDU: The CPN-Unified Socialist has picked Shatrudhan Mahato as its parliamentary party (PP) leader in Province 2.
A PP meeting of the Unified Socialist picked Mahato as PP leader Monday. Mahato was elected from Dhanusha’s constituency 4 (b) from the CPN-UML.
According to Unified Socialist lawmaker Ashok Kumar Yadav, only PP leader was finalized and the party would confirm Chief Whip and Deputy PP later in coming days.
The Unified Socialist has 13 lawmakers in Province 2 after split from the UML. The UML has only 8 lawmakers in the province after 13 defected to the Unified Socialist.
