Maoist Center SC meeting underway at Parisdanda

KATHMANDU: A Standing Committee meeting of the CPN (Maoist Center) is underway at the party office, Parisdanda in Koteswor.

The meeting is taking place after Prachanda held talks with Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkantha in the afternoon.

The meeting is discussing the formation of a majority government.

However, it is said that the NC and Maoist Center are lacking majority to claim to form a majority government, with the JSP’s Mahantha Thakur led faction remaining neutral and not extending support to them.

Meanwhile, the possibility to form government by NC and Maoist Center depends on the UML’s Nepal faction.

The faction has yet to take a concrete decision on resigning en-masse or not.
