UML’s Nepal faction gives PM Oli an ultimatum till 4 pm

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML senior leaders Jhala Nath Khanal and Madhav Kumar Nepal have asked Prime Minister and UML Chairman KP Oli to fulfill their demands within 4 pm on Thursday.

According to leader Bhim Rawal, they would resign en masse if the UML leadership failed to address their demands within the stipulated time.

The disgruntled faction has asked PM Oli to fulfill the demands as proposed by senior leader Madhav Nepal in his six-point letter sent to Prime Minister Oli.

“This is the last thing we want to do for party unity,” Rawal said.

Earlier, a meeting of the UML Standing Committee held at Baluwatar had revoked the suspension of four leaders, including Madhav Nepal, Bhim Rawal, Surendra  Pandey and Ghanashyam Bhusal, of the faction.

Meanwhile, the UML party has also given Chairman Oli the right to take all necessary decisions to keep the party united.

The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the UML Standing Committee held in Baluwatar on Thursday.
