KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has decided to withdraw its action taken against four leaders, including senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal.
According to UML leader Pradip Gyawali, today’s Standing Committee meeting held in Baluwatar decided to withdraw the action against four leaders – Nepal, Bhim Rawal, Ghanashyam Bhusal and Surendra Pandey.
The party had earlier suspended the leaders for six months.
The Madhav Nepal faction had been demanding the UML to withdraw all the decisions taken by the party.
The decision to this effect has been made to avert the possible resignation of the disgruntled faction of the party.
Earlier, the lawmakers of the Nepal faction had warned that they would resign en masse.
Meanwhile, the UML party has also given Chairman Oli the right to take all necessary decisions to keep the party united.
The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the UML Standing Committee held in Baluwatar on Thursday.
After the meeting, leader Gyawali said that the right to make necessary decisions to solve any problems within the party has been delegated to Chairman and Prime Minister Oli.
