PM Oli calls emergency SC meeting at Baluwatar

To dwell on current imbroglio

KATHMANDU: Caretaker Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called an emergency Standing Committee meeting at Baluwatar.

The meeting will dwell on the new government formation and the Nepal-Khanal faction of the ruling CPN-UML, said UML Deputy Parliamentary Party leader Subas Nembang.

“The meeting will discuss how to move ahead under the existing circumstances. We will take a decision in the meeting,” said Nembang.

Prime Minister Oli had failed to secure the vote of confidence in the parliament on May 10.

President Bidya Bhandari had given the opposition parties a three-day deadline to form a new government. The deadline is expiring at 9 pm today.

Opposition parties have not been able to forge consensus on the formation of the new government so far.
