Kathmandu CDO inspects antigen testing at Nagdhunga

KATHMANDU: Officials from Kathmandu District Administration have reached Nagdhunga to inspect coronavirus screening measures being taken at the entry point to Valley Tuesday.

Majority of people, coming from districts, enter the valley through Nagdhunga entry point.

Chief District Officer (CDO) Kali Prasad Parajuli led a team, including Kathmandu Police Chief SSP Ashok Singh, to Nagdhunga, where antigen testing of people entering the valley is being carried.

The inspection visit follows the steady rise in number of virus cases in the Valley since past few days.

CDO Parajuli said health workers and staff from District Public Health Office were effectively screening people at Nagdhunga entry point but the manpower for antigen testing seemed inadequate.

The administration has informed the Health Ministry regarding the manpower crunch.

A meeting of Kathmandu District COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee (DCCMC) on April 5 had mandated compulsory antigen testing at entry points to Valley.
