Congress-led new coalition government soon: Gagan Thapa

NAWALPARASI: Nepali Congress central member Gagan Thapa said a new government led by NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba, with the CPN-Maoist Center and the Janta Samajbadi Party (JSP) as coalition partners, would be formed soon.

He said so while visiting Chaudhary Group-run Unnati Cultural Village at Harkapur in East Nawalparasi on Saturday.

NC leader Thapa said Prime Minister KP Oli should be relieved from duty soon or else the country would slip into deeper crisis.

“This is the time to save the country from Oli’s arrogance and arbitrary decisions that have weakened various constitutional bodies,” Thapa said, adding that the NC, Maoist Center and JSP were united and inching close to a deal to form a new government to topple the KP Oli-led government.

He stressed urgency on part of the NC and coalition partners to form a new government.

Dispelling doubts about the NC candidature for the post of the PM, he said there was no alternative to NC President Deuba.
