Govt picks 200 tourist destinations, doles out Rs 6.8 bln

KATHMANDU:  The government has selected 200 tourist destinations in order to build tourism infrastructures and promote tourism in the country.

The ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has chosen these places in collaboration with the municipalities.

Out of 713 places submitted by the municipalities at the call of the ministry, 200 places have been selected, according to the ministry.

The selected destinations include park, picnic spot, temple, road to tourist destination, trail, shopping complex, museum, monastery, memorial park, fun-park among others.

The ministry said it has allocated Rs 6,800,000,000 for this project.
