37-member election security committee under AIG Pokharel

KATHMANDU: A central election preparation and coordination security committee has been formed under the leadership of Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Bishworaj Pokharel.

According to SSP Basanta Bahadur Kunwar, the central election preparation and coordination security committee has 37 members and may include other police officers and government staffers in the future if need be.

The committee will manage all the required logistics and other necessary materials including finance, said Kunwar.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has already directed all the three security agencies to get prepared for the mid-term polls to be held in April-May.
