Nepal Bar continues protest against Chief Justice Rana on Sunday

KATHMANDU: Nepal Bar Association (NBA) continued its sit-in at Supreme Court premises demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.

Lawyers and professionals took part in the Sunday’s protest seeking Chief Justice Rana’s exit as the first step towards ending corruption and irregularities in the judiciary.

NBA has been organizing various protest programs against the chief justice since October 31.

However, with the passing of the time, the presence of legal practitioners in the sit-ins and demonstrations of Nepal Bar is decreasing.

Law practitioners have been holding sit-ins at the main gate of the Supreme Court every day from 10 am to 12 pm for some time now.

Earlier, the Bar leadership had handed over a memorandum to the top leaders of various parties arguing that the Chief Justice should be impeached.
