Indians arriving from Dubai held with gold-like substance



KATHMANDU: Two Indians arriving Kathmandu from Dubai were arrested with suspicious yellow substance that resembled gold from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) Sunday.

The arrested have been identified as Satham Hussain, 31, and Kadar Ibrahim, 36. They arrived in Kathmandu from Nepal Airlines flight RA 230.

Police arrested Hussain from arrival area of TIA after sensing abnormality in his activities. When taken to Kathmandu Medical College, Sinamangal, for medical test, police recovered five pieces of malleable substance resembling gold hidden in Hussain’s anus to evade customs duty.

According to the police, Kadar Ibrahim, who was carrying an Indian Aadhaar card, was also taken into custody on the basis of Hussain’s statement.
