UML Chairman Oli nominates 44 leaders to central committee



KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has nominated 44 leaders, including Durga Prasai, to the central committee of the party.

Chairman Oli had earlier proposed the name of Prasai, Director of B&C Hospital, for the post of a central member.

Likewise, party leader Bishal Bhattarai, Ain Mahar, Indira Devi Gautam, Saraswati Chaudhary, Yamuna Roka, Uma Koirala, Kalpana Chapagain, Asha BK, Nainakala Ojha, Manju Gurung, Bimala Aryal, Indira Sanjyal, Shanti Adhikari, Rukmini Rana, Savita Yadav, Tara Devi Gurung and Gita Karki have also been nominated to the central committee.

Likewise, the party has also nominated Hari Krishna Byanjankar, Bhim KC, Lal Vavu Pandit, Subas Devkota, Chudadevi Singh Lama, Resam Lama, Govinda Dulal, Sahadev Bogati, Balsing Kauchha, Krishna KC, Chandra Bahadur BK, and Bisham Lal Adhikari to the central committee.

Similarly, Dal Fadera Hussain, Manveer Rair, Chandramohan Gauchan, Ratannath Yogi, Ramesh Poudel, Padam Giri, Surya Pathak, Yagya Bogati, Hari Ghimire, Yuvraj Baskota, Uddhav Regmi, Badri Neupane, Rupnarayan Shrestha and Prem Neupane have also been nominated.

However, party Secretary Yogesh Bhattarai was not in favor of making Prasai a central member.

Prasai had been actively involved in the recently-concluded General Convention of the UML party.

He had the General Convention from Jhapa as a General Convention delegate.

Prior to that, he was affiliated with the CPN-Maoist Center, and was close to Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”.
