Agitating lawyers’ sit-in protest ends

KATHMANDU: The sit-in protest of agitating lawyers of the Nepal Bar Association demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana has ended.

Law practitioners had on Friday morning staged a sit-in to “bar Chief Justice Rana” from entering the office.

However, Chief Justice Rana entered the office using another gate by evading the agitating lawyers.

Nepal Bar has been in agitation demanding the resignation of the Chief Justice, accusing it of seeking a political share in the cabinet, and encouraging corruption in the judiciary.

Meanwhile, as soon as today’s sit-in ended, service seekers got access to the Supreme Court.
