Mugu accident update: 14 injured rescued to Nepalgunj on plane and choppers

NEPALGUNJ: The injured passengers in Mugu bus accident were rescued to Nepalgunj via plane and choppers.

According to the Karnali Province Police Office, 14 people injured in the accident have been flown to Nepalgunj by plane and helicopter.

Among the injured 12 are flown to Nepalgunj via Summit Air flight whereas Nepal Army chopper rescued two of the injured. An army helicopter had gone to Mugu from Surkhet for rescue.

According to Inspector Jeevan Lamichhane, an injured girl is undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Mugu.

“The relatives took the girl to the district hospital on a motorcycle. Her condition is reported to be normal,” Lamichhane said.

23 people died on the spot in the accident that took place at Chhayanath-7, on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bhe 1 Kha 3167number bus heading for Mugu from Surkhet met with an accident. There were 39 passengers traveling on the bus.

According to the police, the bus fell about two hundred and fifty meters from the road, police said.
