NHRC to remain open during Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festival holiday



KATHMANDU: The central, province and provincial branch offices of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) will remain open from 11 am to 2 pm during the Dashain, Tihar and Chhath festival holidays.

NHRC spokesperson Dr Tikaram Pokharel said through a press release that as the previous years, the NHRC will remain open during the festival holidays in view of the protection of the human rights of the general public.

During this period NHRC will register complaints of incidents of human rights violation and excesses, and will also carry out monitoring of incidents of serious nature as required, Dr Pokharel said.
