Crystal Distillery sealed over suspicion of tax evasion



BUTWAL:  The Revenue Investigation Office, Butwal has raided the Crystal Distillery based at Municipality-17 Madhavaliya in Tilotta of Rupandehi district.

According to a source, the industry has been sealed on the suspicion that the crystal distillery could be using fake excise stickers. But the Revenue Investigation Office has been reluctant to divulge details to the media.

Ram Prasad Acharya, Director General of the Revenue Investigation Department, said that an in-depth investigation is underway into the incident.

The Armed Police Force Belahiya-Danda had seized fake excise stickers labeled on bottles arrested Ansari, 23, and Amanat Ali, 24, from Darakhsawa in Bhairahawa on August 21.

Both of them are still under police custody and investigation is underway.
