NC to issue new schedule for 14th general convention after deliberation on election guideline

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has decided to issue a new schedule of the 14th General Convention after completing discussion on the election guideline submitted by the party’s election committee.

A Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting held at NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha on Thursday failed to reach a consensus on a new schedule of the general convention.

NC General Secretary Purna Bahadur Khadka presented the election guideline on behalf of the party’s election committee. The NC said it would make a new schedule based on the suggestions and decisions of the central members on the election guideline.

Similarly, in the CWC meeting Thursday, Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi submitted the report of the integration committee and Coordinator Ramesh Lekhak submitted report of the active membership investigation committee, said NC Spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma.

Spokesperson Sharma said the new schedule of the convention would be decided after receiving suggestions of the central members.

The NC started discussion on a new schedule after it seemed unlikely to hold the 14th General Convention as slated earlier for September 1-4.
