Public, private vehicles prohibited after 8 pm in Kathmandu Valley

KATHMANDU: Public and private vehicles will be prohibited from plying in the Kathmandu Valley after 8 pm beginning Thursday today in view of COVID-19 risk.

However, vehicles for essential services are allowed to operate 24 hours, according to authorities.

The prohibition order has been extended until August 24 coming into effect from today.

A meeting of Chief District Officers of three districts in the Valley — Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur — took a decision in this regard.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Population has warned of a third wave of the infection.
