Opp’n alliance decides to form govt led by NC President Deuba



KATHMANDU: The opposition alliance has decided to form a government led by Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba.

A meeting of the alliance held in Koteshwor late Monday afternoon decided to work towards forming a coalition government Tuesday as per the order of the Supreme Court given earlier in the day.

The Supreme Court, which reinstated the parliament, ordered to appoint Deuba as the prime minister and form a government by 5 pm Tuesday.

Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) leader Baburam Bhattarai after the meeting said the meeting stressed the need to make the alliance more effective.

The opposition alliance is comprised of the NC, CPN-Maoist Center, CPN-UML’s Madhav Kumar Nepal faction, Janata Samajwadi Party’s Upendra Yadav faction and the Rastriya Janamorcha.
