Opposition alliance meeting starts in Koteshwor

KATHMANDU: The meeting of the opposition alliance has begun in Koteshwor late Monday afternoon.

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel, General Secretary Purna Bahadur Khadka, former General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula and Chief Whip Bal Krishna Khand are present in the meeting being held in Koteshwor.

Likewise, Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, leaders Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Barshaman Pun, Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Dev Gurung are participating from the Maoist Center.

The meeting is being held at a forest office near CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal’s residence and leader Raghuji Pant is also said to be present.

Similarly, Baburam Bhattarai, Mahendra Ray Yadav, Ashok Rai and Rajendra Shrestha are participating from the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP). The Rastriya Janamorcha is being represented by lawmaker Durga Poudel.

Leaders of the opposition alliance are discussing future strategy after the Supreme Court restored the parliament and issued an order to appoint Deuba as the prime minister.
